Philadelphia

The song "Philadelphia", written by Joseph Francis Reilly and Angela Falco, will be featured in Joe's upcoming documentary "The Wise Guys" that tells the moving story of a group of mentally challenged but musically talented men with whom Joe has been working with for over thirty years using the power of Music Therapy. Joe was inspired to write his lyrics to the music of Angela's instrumental song "Alone in My Memories" from her "Deep in My Heart" solo piano album.

Producer Rob Hyman (studio owner, founding keyboardist of the well-known band The Hooters, and Grammy Nominated songwriter with Cyndi Lauper for the the classic "Time After Time") was key in taking "Philadelphia" to a higher level. Ably assisted by the expertise of recording engineer John O. Senior at Elm Street Studios, mixing engineer Chris Zurzolo of Medicine Man Studios, mastering engineer Peter Humphreys of Masterwork Recording, and the talented studio musicians who performed, Joe and Angela are pleased to be able to share this heartwarming song with you.

Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Philadelphia
Lord you know we've found a home

Calling the sons of spirit and daughters from beyond the wall
We're turning our tears to laughter seems freedom has broken the law

If you're down; come on up
If you're broke; better try your luck
Streets of gold; room for all
City of light never more to fall

Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Philadelphia
Lord you know we've found a home

How our fathers carried the weight of the old stones
How mothers longed to lift that veil
Now my brothers and i love still and further
Now my sisters are telling the tale

If you're down; come on up
If you're broke; better try your luck
Streets of gold; room for all
City of light never more to fall

Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Philadelphia
Lord you know we've found a home

Many will run from the dreaming
But dreaming is part of the race
Who of you will be a witness
Who'll testify to this place called

Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Philadelphia
Lord you know we've found a home (repeated)
Gotta know we've found
Yes you know we've found a home.

About the Songwriters

Joseph Francis Reilly is the lyrical force that drives the song "Philadelphia." His work as a music therapist has been bringing hope and happiness to his patients for many decades. Joe's poems reflect his experiences witnessing the restoration of many hearts and the souls. His words consistently speak of a time for peace, for healing, and for new beginnings. The lyrics of "Philadelphia" express the universal sentiment that "we are on the verge of a common tenderness." Joe says "Music Is Medicine" and that "the loving vibrational energy of sound can be used to reach one wounded spirit or the soul of a whole nation."

Angela Falco is the composer of the music that became the song "Philadelphia." She has guided countless children and the elderly toward health and wholeness with her music therapy work. Angela paints a canvas of layered sounds encouraging the spirit of hope with her melodic and harmonic arrangements, as she touches the heart of her listeners. Angela's goal is to "Heal the World using the Power of Music."
